A Successful Partnership with Blue Diamond Growers
June was a busy month at SETA Sacramento Works, and one event stood out as a great example of what strong partnerships can accomplish.
In collaboration with Blue Diamond Growers, we hosted a private Job & Resource Fair for employees impacted by recent layoffs. The event brought together 27 employers and workforce partners, giving job seekers the opportunity to connect directly with organizations that were actively hiring. More than 150 employees registered, with approximately 130 attendees taking advantage of the opportunity to explore new careers and workforce resources.
The event delivered immediate results. One attendee interviewed with an employer during the fair and was offered a job on the spot. Another participating employer also shared that they had recently hired a former Blue Diamond employee through this layoff effort. Just as encouraging was the feedback from Blue Diamond, whose leadership praised the event and expressed interest in partnering with SETA on future hiring opportunities.
Supporting Employers and Job Seekers Across the Region
In addition to the Blue Diamond event, SETA hosted a hiring event for Advanced Kids, helping connect qualified candidates with multiple open positions. Our team also provided Rapid Response orientations for employees affected by layoffs at Highland Charter Technical Schools and Blue Diamond, ensuring workers had immediate access to employment services, training opportunities, and career resources during their transition.
