Big Turnouts and Real Connections this April at SETA Sacramento Works

April was busy in the best way.

We kicked things off with the New Beginnings Job Fair, one of our most meaningful events of the year. In partnership with organizations like World Relief, this fair focused on connecting refugee and underserved job seekers with real opportunities. The turnout says it all. Nearly 500 job seekers showed up, supported by interpreters in multiple languages, and connected with dozens of employers ready to hire. When barriers come down, talent shows up.

A new home at Aggie Square

Next stop was Aggie Square, where we hosted our first Career Resource Fair in partnership with the City of Sacramento and UC Davis Health at this location. And it delivered.

With over 160 attendees (plus plenty of walk-ins), the energy was strong and the conversations even stronger. What made this event stand out was the mix. Public agencies, large employers, community resources, and small businesses all in one place, building real connections. Partners also hosted six workshops covering everything from navigating CalCareers to landing roles with UC Davis Health and Sacramento County, giving attendees practical tools they can actually use.

One more to go

We’re closing out the month with our Work for California Spring Career Fair on April 30. With 35 state departments and roughly 900 job seekers already registered, it’s shaping up to be one of our largest events yet.

Let’s build what’s next

These events work because of our employer partners.
