Workforce Development Professional Apprenticeship Program Overview

SETA will soon implement the Workforce Professional Apprenticeship program which offers an objective and credentialed pathway for Workforce Development Professionals to advance.

The Workforce Development Professional Apprenticeship program provides an opportunity for staff classified as a Workforce Development Professional Range 2 (WDP2) to advance to Range 3 (WDP3) through a State-approved apprenticeship program. All WDP2s who successfully complete the apprenticeship program will receive a State Apprenticeship Council Certificate and be promoted to a WDP3. All apprentices must complete 2000 hours of paid on-the-job training and at least 144 hours of supplemental related classroom instruction. The program will include technical classroom instruction in the workforce development industry, project/team leadership, individual skill development, and community relationships.

The Apprenticeship Committee is finalizing the curriculum, rules & regulations, and the application process, and will be scheduling a meeting with interested WDP2s in the near future to share information and solicit applications.
