Disability Employment Initiative (DEI) Grant Award

SETA has been awarded $600,000 from the California Employment Development Department (EDD), under the U.S. Department of Labor’s (DOL) Disability Employment Initiative (DEI) grant opportunity. SETA was one of three Workforce Investment Areas (WIAs) in California asked to join EDD’s application intended to facilitate public workforce system improvements, expand service delivery, and provide meaningful career pathway education and training programs intended to equip adults with disabilities with the skills, competencies, and credentials necessary to obtain jobs in high demand industry sectors, increase earnings, and realize career advancement. SETA will utilize existing relationships and resources to achieve the grant outcomes, including partnering with Crossroads Diversified Services, Inc. to provide career and education coaching, job carving, counseling on SSI/SSDI benefits planning, offer work incentives, and to provide program supports and resources. This initiative will also allow SETA to expand its Ticket to Work (TTW) Program for job seekers on SSI/SSDI. The project period will cover a 42-month period.
