Community Services Block Grant
SETA is the designated Community Action Agency for Sacramento County for the provision of Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) services. CSBG funding originates with the federal Department of Health and Human Services and remains one of the last remaining efforts of the War on Poverty. The purpose of the CSBG program is to reduce poverty, revitalize low-income communities and empower low-income families and individuals to become self-sufficient. The program operates through neighborhood based organizations to provide services and activities having measurable and potential major impacts on causes of poverty in communities with acute needs.
Refugee Program
Since 1983, the SETA Refugee program has provided services to refugee around the world, predominately to customers from Indochina, Eastern Europe and the former Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. Services provided by local agencies are intended to result in the economic self-sufficiency and reduced welfare dependency of refugees through employment.
